The Road to Diabetes


The Road to Diabetes is the map of what I imagine is the road to Diabetes, from birth (in Olympic City) until we finally make it to Diabetes Type II. By age 60 or 65, about 25% of the population of the world has "arrived" (or they are on the outskirts) at Diabetes II. Not too far ahead is Diabetes I.

But it is not difficult to SLOW DOWN your advance to Diabetes II. YOU CAN SLOW DOWN, if you make an effort to slow down. You need to UNDERSTAND diabetes... what causes it... how and why the food you eat today determines how soon or how slowly you arrive at that terrible destination... and what you can do to stop your advance.

You need to understand how food affects glucose levels, and you have to be able to interpret what those glucose levels mean. (See The Glucose Theory of Aging, and Table )

You should be able to tell at a glance how any food will affect your glucose levels...

And you need to be able to PREDICT HOW THE FOOD YOU ARE ABOUT TO EAT WILL AFFECT YOUR GLUCOSE LEVELS, so that you can take a rational decision: eat it; leave it, or at least leave some of it on the plate.

I am not saying that you must eat perfectly well. IF YOU KNOW HOW THE FOOD YOU EAT WILL AFFECT YOUR GLUCOSE LEVELS, you MIGHT decide not to eat that food, or you might decide to eat LESS of it... or you might even decide to eat it LATER... or MORE SLOWLY...
