VERMOX I want to know what Vermox is. I am concerned about putting poison in my body and the my son's body... How does it kill worms?

Vermox is a brand name for the drug Mebendazole an anthelmintic drug which is used to treat infestation by round, whip, thread or
hook-worms.
The treatment is usually very effective and if all members of a
household are treated together (usually two doses, two weeks apart) eradication should be 100%.
Its mode of action is believed to be by inhibiting absorbtion of
sugars which the worms need as a food/energy source. The dead worms are then passed with bowel motions.
Side effects are usually minor, gastro-intestinal disturbance,
occasional rash. Mebendazole is a known teratogen in rats and
therefore should not be given to pregnant women without medical advice.
